Many consider Black Jack their favorite game. Its popularity seems to be soaring! For those who are just getting introduced to this fun game, let's take a minute to review the game. Black Jack is a card game that is played at a semicircular special black jack table. In order to play Black Jack you will need at least one regular deck of 52 cards.
In Las Vegas, Monte Carlo and Atlantic City casinos you'll see them use 1 deck to infinite decks at each black jack game table (you'll also see automatic card shuffling machines shuffling the cards all the time at each black jack game table).
The objective of the game of black jack is to beat the dealers hand with your own. Both the dealer and player will try to get their hands as close to 21 as possible without going over 21. If you happen to go over 21, it is an immediate loss at every black jack game table. In the game of black jack the cards from 2-10 are ranked by the face value. The Jack, Queen and King are counted as 10, and the Ace is counted as either 1 or 11 whichever the player decides is best for that hand.
Once the players are seated or standing near the black jack game table, the dealer will deal two cards to each player and two cards to the dealer. One of the dealer's cards will be facing up on the black jack game table. The players will look at their hands and then decide depending on the dealers up card how to play to proceed with their game.
PLAYERS CAN EITHER:
Ask for a Hit - This is when the player asks for additional cards to improve his hand. The player can keep telling the dealer to give the hand additional cards at the black jack game table until either the hand goes over 21 or the player decides to stand.
Declare to Stand - The player can choose to stand at any time, this is when player decides that this is as good as his hand will get and doesn't ask for any additional cards. His cards remain face down on the black jack game table. Other players can continue to get hits until they decide to stand. Once all players have said "I'll stand," the dealer will finish his hand.
Now it's time to let each player show his/her hand but revealing them onto the surface of the black jack game table. After all players have finished playing their hands, it is the dealers turn to turn his/her hand over upright on the black jack game table. The dealer continues to hit until either reaching a total of 17 to 21 or busting. If he/she busts all the players that did not bust win. If dealer does not bust all player hand totals are compared to the dealer hand total, by counting up the points that are revealed on the black jack game table. If players hand total is greater than dealer player wins. If dealers total is higher the dealer wins. If totals are equal the hand is considered a push.
